With Justdiggit in Kenya

Our UK Managing Director, Mr Richard Blackburn just returned from an inspiring and unforgettable trip to Kenya. Alongside fellow industry leaders, Richard spent the week witnessing firsthand the incredible work Justdiggit is doing to combat climate change through large-scale re-greening and landscape restoration initiatives.

A highlight for the group was meeting the remarkable Maasai tribeswomen leading seed bank projects that restore local environments, enhance livelihoods, and empower their communities. Justdiggit has already restored over 4,000 square kilometres of land, contributing to cooling the planet and creating sustainable ecosystems.

After an initial day in Nairobi, where they met with Justdiggit’s Kenyan operations team, the group travelled south to the Rift Valley and Amboseli National Park. Their first stop was Kajiado, where they met officials from the Amboseli Ecosystem Trust (AET) and visited a seed bank run by Maasai women, recognizing their hard work with a cheque and a cake.

Following an overnight stay in Kimana, the group visited another project site near Kilimanjaro before embarking on an unforgettable game drive through Amboseli, where they enjoyed close encounters with Kenya’s stunning wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, and zebras.

The dedication and passion of Justdiggit, the AET, and their partners left a profound impression on the group. They felt immense pride in supporting such transformative work, which makes a real difference not only for the environment but also for the communities on the front lines of climate change.

We are proud to support Justdiggit to raise awareness of their important work, and we look forward to sharing more incredible stories to amplify Justdiggit’s mission to create a greener, more sustainable world.
